Animals have been a lifelong love of mine. From a young age, I volunteered at animal shelters, and today I continue that passion here in Braga by fostering dogs and welcoming them into my home for sleepovers. I adore the little things—the happy wagging tail, soft paws, curious noses, bright eyes, and the quiet companionship of an animal beside you. I truly believe dogs are among our greatest companions, and every animal deserves to feel safe, loved, understood, and cherished. Caring for them brings me genuine joy, and I treat every dog as an individual with their own personality, needs, and little quirks.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. From a young age, I volunteered in animal shelters and learned very quickly that every animal has its own little personality, fears, habits and way of communicating. Over the years, I’ve also fostered dogs and had the privilege of caring for everything from tiny puppies and kittens to wonderful old souls who simply need a little more patience, comfort and love. Here in Braga, I regularly welcome dogs into my home for sleepovers, particularly for expat families who need someone they can genuinely trust. My own dogs are very friendly and love having visitors, so there is usually plenty of companionship, play and happy chaos. I’ve learned a lot over the years about different breeds, their personalities, their needs and the little things that make each one feel comfortable. I’m also very careful about food and know which everyday foods can be dangerous or toxic to animals. I’m comfortable caring for animals who need medication or a little extra attention, including giving oral medication, rectal medication, and eye or ear drops. I’m also familiar with animal first aid and mouth-to-snout resuscitation. I’m naturally very observant, and I pay attention to changes in behavior, appetite, energy and anything else that might tell me an animal isn’t feeling quite right. Whether it’s a bouncy puppy, a mischievous kitten, a happy adult or a cherished senior, I genuinely enjoy getting to know them. I love animals for exactly who they are, and when they’re in my care, I want them to feel safe, relaxed, loved and completely at home. That’s really what this is all about for me: loving animals and giving their people peace of mind.

Um dia típico

I’m an early riser, so our day would start with a cheerful morning greeting, some cuddles, and a good stretch before heading out for fresh air and exercise. We’d explore Braga’s beautiful parks and river paths, with plenty of time for sniffing, playing, and enjoying the surroundings. Back home, there’d be water, rest, and lots of affection before another play session or gentle outing later in the day. I’m attentive to every dog’s needs and always put their safety, happiness, and comfort first!
